About Events Apprenticeships

Creating accessible, standardised apprenticeships – designed by the industry for the industry

WHO ARE WE?

Events Apprenticeships (EA) is a not-for-profit, CIC (Community Interest Company) organisation helping to develop and provide recognised routes into events, to allow people from all backgrounds and ages to gain experience and relevant professional qualifications within the industry. It aims to break down barriers to entry and progression with the aim of attracting a broader pipeline of potential talent.

Events Apprenticeships are made up of the Events Apprenticeships Advisory Board (EAAB).

WHAT DO WE DO?

The Events Apprenticeship Framework (EAF) will bring together those apprenticeships that are recognised as supporting the wider event ecosystem. It will identify gaps and aim to fill these, initially highlighting those whose core work is in events: Event Assistant, Production Technician and Live Event Rigger. It will aim to influence and sign-post related apprenticeships, such as Print Technician, Electrician, Carpentry & Joinery, Security First Line Manager, Hospitality Supervisor and Hospitality Manager.

Events Apprenticeships work with schools, colleges, employers, and parents to promote the benefits of apprenticeships and a career in events.

As within the events industry, we inspire the way apprenticeships are perceived and drive forward innovative and creative work in England to ensure more individuals and businesses can access the benefits of event apprenticeships.

WHO DO WE HELP?

We look to actively help and support:

  • Schools and colleges to understand how to position apprenticeships as a dependable pathway for students

  • Employers to understand the recruitment processes and how to access the employment levy (funding)

  • Policymakers and influencers to understand the challenges and the benefits of the events apprenticeships framework to support the next generation of talent

  • Parent and guardians to help them understand the benefits of apprenticeships

WHAT ARE WE DOING?

We are supported by UKEVENTS and partners to deliver the events apprenticeship framework, working closely with some of the UK biggest event agencies, venues, and associations.

We understand the benefits employers can make to apprentices and what apprentices can make to their employers through the opportunities available.

The events apprenticeships framework will be delivered by the EAAB through three key pillars of work: Education & regulation, Marketing and communications and Finance & funding.

OUR THREE PILARS

OUR THREE PILARS

Education and regulation

Developing a framework of available apprenticeships that offer entry and career progression opportunities across different roles within the events industry. This includes reviewing existing Institute for Apprenticeships & Technical Education (IfATE) occupational standards and end point assessments. This will be undertaken in collaboration with employers, industry representatives, training, and assessment providers.

Marketing and communications

Create, collaborate, and communicate what we are doing to the wider events industry. Helping businesses, schools, teachers, and parents to navigate, engage, and recruit apprenticeships.

Finance and funding

To seek financial support and funding (through the Crowdfunding initiative) from the industry to launch and fund the events apprenticeships framework to invest in everyone's future.
