Impact Highlights: Building the Next Generation of Event Professionals
It’s been a transformative six months for Events Apprenticeships, a period defined by growth, recognition, and collaboration across the industry. From new resources for employers to landmark apprentice graduations, here’s a look at what we’ve achieved together.
Launch of the Good Employer Guide
In July 2025, we launched the Good Employer Guide — a free, practical resource designed to give event agencies, venues, festivals, and in-house teams the confidence to hire and support apprentices.
Guidance covers funding, recruitment, onboarding, and best-practice support.
The launch was marked with a live webinar, drawing a wide audience of employers eager to build inclusive apprenticeship programmes.
Webinars for Industry Engagement
Our free webinar series has given employers clear, step-by-step insights into:
How apprenticeships work
What support is available
Why apprenticeships benefit organisations
We also explored how to choose and collaborate effectively with training providers, with contributions from The JGA Group, Creative Alliance, Access Industry, and MUTI Live.
Training Provider Collaboration
Partnerships have been key to progress. Together with training providers and our advisory board, we co-created the Good Employer Guide and continue to promote best-practice delivery across the sector.
Apprentices in Action
Apprentices have been active at some of the industry’s biggest shows, including Confex, Production Futures, and The Meetings Show, gaining real-world experience while supporting event delivery teams.
Security Apprenticeships: A Landmark Moment
July 2025 marked a huge milestone with the first cohort of Event Security Apprentices graduating at ExCeL London. The ceremony, attended by Figen Murray OBE, underlined the importance of skilled professionals in ensuring event safety and preparing for Protect Duty (Martyn’s Law).
Recognition: Fast Forward 15 Award
In April, we proudly won the Fast Forward 15 Impact & Community Mentoring Award — recognition of our leadership in mentoring and community engagement within the events sector.
Community Growth
Our LinkedIn page has now grown to over 1,060 followers, with stronger engagement than ever around webinars, the Good Employer Guide, and apprenticeship success stories.
Looking Ahead
The journey doesn’t stop here. In the months ahead, we will:
Scale apprenticeship delivery in security, production, rigging, lighting, marketing, and sustainability.
Expand the Good Employer Guide into case studies and toolkits.
Form new partnerships, including Trailblazer groups for sector-specific standards.
Increase reach through webinars and industry events.
Build on the visibility of our award win to strengthen mentorship initiatives.
Launch the new Events Assistant Apprenticeship Standards once approved.
In Summary
From guidance and training to live event participation and national recognition, Events Apprenticeships has taken significant steps to embed apprenticeships at the heart of the events industry. Together, we’re building a sustainable, inclusive pathway for the next generation of event professionals.
